Keeping Your Love for God Vibrant

Tell the group about the most romantic thing you’ve ever done.

What is the most embarrassing situation you’ve been in?

On the surface, the Ephesians appeared to be a solid church. What were they doing right? How are you like the Ephesians?

Do you think it’s a sin to lose your first love? Explain your answer.

What happens to a person who he does all the right things, but the love is not right?

In the sermon on Sunday, we talked about how a person moves from his first love, step by step. Describe what a step in the wrong direction can be.

The Ephesians were certainly intent on doing the right things for God. It must have been a shock to hear Jesus’ words to them. How could they have known? Is there a definition that works to describe first love?

Is the standard too high to say that we’re supposed to love at the same level God loves us?

In John 21, Peter’s conversation with Jesus was both revealing and difficult. Why do you think Jesus spoke to Peter so directly?

How do you distinguish between the infatuation-type love and the genuine-love? Do you believe the infatuation-type love is bad or wrong?
